Center for Innovation and Development (CINDEV) is a grass-root women led organization founded in the year 2025 and based in Busia, Kenya. Our mission is to empower vulnerable populations though four core themes: enhancing economic independence for women and youth, promoting smart farming and environmental sustainability to mitigate the effects of climate change, empowering boys and girls through education support and mentorship and enhancing WASH, health and well-being through awareness creation and outreach.
At the heart of our work is a commitment to partnerships and community engagement. We partner with local organizations, government and stakeholders to design relevant and effective initiatives. Our programmes seek to address pressing issues such as economic empowerment, food insecurity, school drop-out among children, poor access to clean and safe water, rising burden of diseases and overall well-being. By mobilizing communities to identify their challenges and develop sustainable initiatives, we strive to create a thriving environment for generations. Our founder, Imelda Mulanya is a public health specialist and renowned champion of women and youth empowerment.

Imelda Mulanya
A dedicated Public Health Specialist with over a decade of experience in community development, Imelda founded CINDEV with a vision to create an empowered community. Her grassroots approach combines professional expertise with deep understanding of local needs, ensuring programs are both effective and culturally relevant.
As a founder, mentor, and strategist, Imelda does not work in isolation; she leads a multiskilled team of passionate professionals and community advocates dedicated to community transformation. By working side-by-side with her team, local stakeholders, and partners, she translates a singular vision into a scalable, community-led reality where every initiative is a collective step toward lasting change.
